From escaping Borstal in his teenage years and living as a fugitive to breaking with traveller tradition and buying land, battling with depression and an at-times-uncontrollable temper and spending time connecting with his faith in prison. It’s safe to say that John has learned lessons the hard way but it’s the pride he feels in having raised his six sons, including British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, that has helped him find balance as a fighter and a family man.
